    Default Thousand Islands Fishing

Just got back from the Thousand Islands, N.Y., an annual family trip for the last 12 years.

Did some trolling in the evenings and got a walleye, pike and smallmouth. Also, fished deep with minnows and worms for smallmouth. Caught a few 20 incher's and my personal best a 21 inch. Had probably a 38" pike at the net, but got the lure caught up on the outside of the net and then you know what happened. Would have been a nice picture, but would have been released anyway. Kept 1 walleye and 2 smallmouth for dinner one night and they were very good. Water is pretty cold for swimming, but the fishing, wildlife and scenery is great.
