Bring a snowmobile. I’m not sure where you normally hunt but after Friday most all of any side roads off main roads will be inaccessible unless you have a Jeep or the like with a winch that you don’t care if you get stuck. Any full-size truck will be SOL IMO. It’s bad enough after today’s storm. Not hard to get messed up.

We hunt near the forks. Maybe there is less snow there?

We didnít see anything until 3pm today. We have had 3 stuck trucks, wish I brought my snowmobile. Yesterday was prime, saw lots of does and passed a small buck. Tomorrow will be better, but Thursday will be prime. Thinking about hunting south, as road access is very limited.

That seems like a good idea. Plenty of good hunting south of Jackman.

It was awesome just to hear it. I could hear my own heart racing. Didnít get back there yesterday, pouring rain in the morning and my youngest daughter had a doctors appointment in the afternoon. Going to give it another try today and setup near where it was. I think they were in some small thick pines. I setup outside of it with good shooting lanes. The best part is that itís right near an old landfill. There is an atv trail that goes off to the west of it where tons of hunters go. I walked around it and headed north of it. 15 yards in and there is tracks and poop everywhere. If he comes back it will be the easiest drag I could imagine. Wonít even need the sled. Fingers crossed. If not southern maine is getting a few inches of snow Thursday into Friday.

zoe couldn't come with me tonight, she had an early basketball practice....they are still coming into the field during daylight, though.....had this little 6 come into the field at bow range, and watched him feed for a good 30 minutes......i actually grunted at him at the end of legal, and intimidated him out of range so i could sneak out of there lol

Good to see. As usual plans fall apart. Went out Wednesday and with those winds I wasn’t willing to risk my life. After 30 minutes of sitting a whole tree limb fell so close I felt the ground shake. I packed up and headed out. My wife and 2 daughters need me more than the woods. Get a call from my dad that night. My mom heard a pop in her knee and was in the ER. I went to the ER and sat with them for 4 hours only to hear she needs a doctors appointment during regular hours. My mom is staying with my family since our house layout is easier to navigate than theirs on crutches. I’ll be taking her to the doctors first thing in the morning. Haven’t had a good snowfall since 2014 to hunt, but family is number one. Hope the snow sticks for a while.
