    870's are good also because you can buy a rifled barrel with scope and hunt deer with it. If I was just getting one for turkey and small game I would be really tempted to get the HR Topper for about 200 bucks. Even with a modified choke you will kill turkeys at 40 yards with Winchester Long Beards. Those shells shoot too tight out of xtra full choke tubes!

    I listened. Put a deposit on a 870 youth (synthetic black). Went up to Old Glory in Mason NH. Doug was a big help...nice store too. Gun should be available for pick up in about a week.

    Awesome. It should be great. Start her out with the super light target loads and she'll love it.
