    Beautiful gun mountain hunter!

My first rifle I hunted with was a 336. Just something about working that lever that gets the blood flowing.

I'm not a lever guy but I've loved those guns since they came out years ago. For whatever reason just haven't bought one. Now you've got me thinking again.
I love it when a plan comes together!

Still have my Grandpa's 1951 336 in a .35 Remington. I've killed a couple deer with it. I put a peep on it last year and just didn't use it much(Shot a deer first hour, first day with the 45/70) but this year I'm going to carry it more. I will admit, I think a Marlin Lever Action looks ugly with a scope. They handle better without one. I just feel like I have to have glass for our APR on the mountain where I hunt.

I had the Winchester Timber Carbine for several years in 444...great little gun, but I moved on to another 7600, I think. Wish I had kept it....they are no longer made and the price has jumped massively for a used one.....

    Ouch. That's worth at least 2 7600's.

I think I'm going to hold off for a while. I don't really need another rifle right now and with the moose hunt coming up money is getting tighter. And another college bill coming up. For now I am getting by holding my Marlin 444SS, with Leupold 1-4. Thanks for the replies. The seed has been planted and it's probably just a matter of time, before I pull the trigger on one. lol I like the wood on that Timber Carbine!

I had a Marlin 1895 pre-cross bolt with spectacular wood. I shot one deer with it and at 18 yards the impact , or hydrostatic effect was impressive

Just picked up a 336 in 38 special similar to this. Needs a butt plate.
Anyone know where I can find one?

Follow your dreams, especially if your dreams are leaving tracks in a fresh 6 in. snowfall!

Hoping to do an Indiana hunt with my uncle next season. Planning to bring my Marlins 336SS in .30-30.
